Bangladesh has set a vision to become a developed country by 2041, and the leather products and footwear sector aims to be a proud contributor to that goal. The government sees the industry as one of the main growth generators for crossing the middle-income threshold: it's now the country's second-largest export-earning industry, worth well over 1.5 billion USD and supporting about a million jobs, directly and indirectly.
A ten-year perspective plan targets $10–12 billion in leather sector export earnings by 2030, and China's gradual shift from leather products, footwear, and synthetics toward high-tech industries is opening relocation opportunities for Bangladesh. FLAXA and the Government of Bangladesh have worked to build on the sector's growing capacity and competitiveness to establish the country as a cost-effective, sustainable, and reliable manufacturing hub. Following successful editions in 2017, 2018, and 2019, BLLISS 2026 marks the 5th edition of the Bangladesh Leatherfootwear & Leathergoods International Sourcing Show.
Organized by FLAXA and directed by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, BLLISS gives buyers, brands, and sourcing representatives a direct line to Bangladesh's top manufacturers and exporters of leather goods and footwear — creating room for networking, partnerships, and new investment.
